AnOther Magazine appoints editor

 Dazed Media has announced the appointment of fashion journalist, author and critic Alexander Fury as editor of bi-annual fashion title AnOther Magazine.

From 2013 to 2016 Alexander was fashion editor of the Independent, i and the Independent on Sunday newspapers. He was the inaugural men's critic for Vogue.com, covering the Winter 2016 and Spring 2017 menswear seasons, and in 2016 was appointed as chief fashion correspondent at T: The New York Times Style Magazine. He has also served as editor of LOVE magazine (2012-2013) and fashion director of SHOWstudio.com (2008-2012). Alexander was the first journalist to receive the Editorial Intelligence Award for Fashion Commentator of the Year 2014-15, and was named one of InStyle magazine’s 20 most powerful people in fashion in 2015.

His first book Dior: Catwalk was published by Thames and Hudson in 2017; a second, Catwalking, charting the career of catwalk photographer Chris Moore, is released in November. He has also contributed to exhibition catalogues for Savage Beauty at the Victoria and Albert Museum, Isabella Blow: Fashion Galore! at Somerset House, and the exhibitions Claude Parent: Dessiner la Mode and Richard Wentworth à la Maison Alaïa at the Galerie Azzedine Alaïa. He is currently working on a book charting the work of Gianfranco Ferré for Christian Dior.

Alexander will be working alongside editor-in-chief Susannah Frankel and fashion director Katie Shillingford.
