ELLE US appoints editor-in-chief
ELLE US has announced the appointment of Nina Garcia
as editor-in-chief, effective 18 September. Nina was previously fashion
director at ELLE US for 13 years, and most recently, creative director
of Marie
Claire where she has been since 2008. Nina has also been a judge on
Project Runway for the show’s 16 seasons and written four best-selling books on
style.
Nina succeeds Robbie Myers, who
helmed the magazine for 17 years and helped position ELLE as an authority on
fashion, culture, and politics. In her role as editor-in-chief, Garcia plans to
build on the brand’s core identity as a leading voice in the industry. "When I was the fashion
director of ELLE, I got to see the magazine be first-to-market in profound
ways," says Nina. "It was the first to have a fashion TV show, the
first to make front-of-book fashion pages interesting, and the first to really
focus on 'personal style.' It's always been a pioneering brand that sets new
standards for the industry."
