Staring at a blank screen…‘Food for thought’ when creating a Press Release!
Creating a press release can be stressful. What do you write about? We find the best way to start is by
brainstorming and making notes about your brand and collections. When making notes about your brand and
collections, think about some of the questions below.
Your name and brand name?
When and who started the brand?
What is the DNA of your brand?
What inspired you to start your brand?
What age range are your designs targeting? Why?
Any important news or product releases coming up in the
next 3 months?
Any trade shows, fashion shows coming up?
Did you pick-up any new stockists over the last 3 to 6
months?
Describe your recent collection as a whole and if you have
different stories within the collection, please explain how they differ and
connect.
Consider 3 to 4 campaign images or look book images that
you feel best represent your brand. Then
choose 1 or 2 to use in the press release.
You may want to consider creating a collage in Photoshop!
Not all of the information above will be used in the press
release, but this should give plenty of copy to work with.
